Junior Bioinformatician (Paid Intern)
Join IGF as a paid bioinformatics intern and work directly with high-throughput sequencing technologies (PromethION, Revio) at the Faculty of Biology, UGM. You will process real NGS datasets, collaborate with wet-lab researchers and clients, and build skills in state-of-the-art genomics workflows.
Qualification & Requirement
- Final-year Student or Fresh Graduate in a Life Science field (Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.)
- Curious and passionate about bioinformatics & genomics
- Familiar with basic UNIX and coding/scripting (Python / R)
- Eager to learn real-world NGS analysis workflows (ONT / PacBio)
- Able to work on-site in Yogyakarta — Co-Sequencing Space IGF, Faculty of Biology UGM
- Willing to commit 3 months, 40 hrs/week (*with possible extension)

Wetlab Technician — Oct 2025 (Project-based Contract)
Project-based contract role for a Wetlab Technician supporting IGF's sequencing operations. Responsible for hands-on laboratory procedures, data quality, and contributing to NGS-based sequencing workflows at the Co-Sequencing Space, Faculty of Biology UGM.
Qualification & Requirement
- Fresh Graduate in a Life Science field (Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.)
- Proficient in core wetlab skills: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, electrophoresis — sequencing knowledge preferred
- Strong time management to handle multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
- Portfolio demonstrating thorough experience in molecular biology analysis
- Willing to commit 3 months, 40 hrs/week (*with possible extension)
- Flexible availability for sequencing schedule requirements
- Work on-site in Yogyakarta — Co-Sequencing Space IGF, Faculty of Biology UGM

Wetlab Technician — Apr 2025 (Project-based Contract)
Project-based contract for a Wetlab Technician at IGF's Co-Sequencing Space. Duties include performing laboratory procedures with the Revio platform, maintaining data quality, and supporting multi-project sequencing workflows.

Internship Program — Batch 3
Research internship at IGF covering advanced topics across genomics and bioengineering. Open to students and fresh graduates keen to work alongside IGF researchers on live sequencing projects.
Qualification & Requirement
- Student or Fresh Graduate in a Life Science or related field
- Genuine interest in genomics, sequencing, and/or experimental biology
- Able to work on-site in Yogyakarta
- Submit: CV, Academic Transcript, and a one-page Motivation Letter

IGF Internship Program — Batch 2
One-month full-day on-site internship for Biology UGM fresh graduates. Participants gain direct exposure to nanopore sequencing workflows, bioinformatics analysis, and an independent mini research project.
Qualification & Requirement
- Able to commit to a full-day, on-site internship for one month
- Fresh Graduate from Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada
- Experience using molecular biology instruments
